Mission of Communities in Schools Houston

The Mission of Communities in Schools Houston is to provide and to coordinate student assistance services at the school campus in order to best meet the physical and emotional needs of at-risk students and to empower these students to remain in school.

Program Services
CIS was built on the premise that it is a relationship that makes the difference in a child’s life.  As with the majority of the CIS network, CIS services are provided with the one-on-one relationship in mind.   Mentoring, academic support, out of school time programs, connection with the world through cultural activities, parenting program and case management are all integral components as well as with their families and communities, to address the academic physical and emotional needs of at-risk students on a year-round basis. We accomplish our goal of keeping at-risk children in school and achieving by providing effective, comprehensive services designed to meet the particular needs of each child, whether those needs are personal or academic.
